Introducing Lynna McFarland
My name is Lynna McFarland and I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. From the time I was old enough to walk I’ve cared for my own dogs, cats, turtles, birds, ducks, rabbits and hamsters as well as the chickens, goats, pigs, ducks and dogs on my grandparents farm where I spent a good portion of my childhood.
During my school years, I moved about every grade as my Air Force “Dad” was transferred from one military base to another. Continual moving didn’t allow me much time to make or keep many friends so I turned to pets to fill the void. I would take my school lunch money and rather than eating lunch would save that money to buy puppies and other pets I could care for. Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep them when we moved but that didn’t stop me from repeating my school lunch money “buy and care for a pet” program at the next base. And, when my Dad was stationed overseas my mother, brother and I lived on my grandparents’ farm in West Texas where I was able to have and care for a variety of farm animals.
Having and caring for a variety of animals has continued with my husband and children to now caring for my adult boys’ family pets. Anyone who knows me well knows my love, commitment and dedication to the animals I care for.
